Two men charged in Burger Dairy burglary


Two men have been charged with burglary and theft for robbing the Burger Dairy II on the corner of Tennessee Avenue and St. Joseph River Boulevard on Feb. 13.

According to court documents on Feb. 13 at approximately 1 a.m. two men, threw a rock through the door of the business. They stole cases of cigarettes, a shotgun and a package of blueberry muffins. Arriving officers found the glass in the front door shattered and items removed. A videotape from the business showed two people heavily dressed approaching the business from the alley on the east side of the building, they checked out the front of the store and left. Shortly after that they returned and threw a large rock through the door.

Dylan M. Lenegar, 20, of the 400 block of Huffman Street and Caleb Saylor-Hicks, 19, of the 3400 block of Auer Drive, have been charged with burglary, a Class C felony, and theft, a Class D felony.

According to court documents, the men were arrested along with a third man after a burglary and vehicle pursuit. During the course of questioning the third man told detectives the two men had been involved; they were both wearing the distinctive tennis shoes worn during the burglary, according to court documents.
