BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Athletic officials at Bowling Green in Ohio say an assistant women’s basketball coach resigned after admitting she had a relationship with a student in the program.

The school confirmed on Thursday that first-year assistant coach Ali Mann resigned last week after it began to look into the relationship.

Athletic department spokesman Jason Knavel says Bowling Green officials believe the relationship was consensual and that no NCAA rules were broken.

Mann was a four-year starter at Bowling Green and was a captain on the Falcons’ team that reached the Sweet Sixteen in 2007.

She still ranks second on the school’s all-time scoring list.

Before returning to coach at Bowling Green this season, Mann was an assistant at Colgate and IPFW.

She was hired in 2008 as the IPFW women’s basketball assistant.
