After being traded to Florida two weeks ago, defenseman Brent Henley came back to Fort Wayne on Friday night as a member of the Everblades.
Not at all. I'm happy to come back. I have a lot of great memories here, and a lot of great teammates I could say hello to. I'm here as an Everblade and to solidify our playoff position, and we did that.
We're very well coached, everyone has bought into the system so everyone knows their job and how to do them. We had a lot of guys come in the last week and fit in right away, and that's a testament to the coaching staff and the rest of the team.
That's how the coaches drew it up. Guys go to the right place and buy in, and it shows on the ice.
Not a lot. I think the boys on the other side knew it was a very serious game for them, and it was a very serious game for us. I had some pleasantries last night, a couple of how are ya doins, but it was a really hard-fought game and was not a game for socializing.
I feel spectacular. I've got my spark back, and I'm happy to be an Everblade. That's a really good feeling for me.
Kaleigh asked me to fight, and I respected him for it, but that's not a good time to fight in a two-goal game. He's a tough guy, but if we leave him on the ice, there are some plays that went our way when he was out there. He's a hard-nosed kid, and I give him all the respect in the world for battling all of last year and all of this year, but you have to know when it's the right time, and that wasn't it.
