Icy conditions along Interstate 469 may have caused a wreck that involved at least three tractor-trailers and one passenger vehicle Wednesday morning near the highway's interchange with Interstate 69.

Dispatchers said police and emergency workers responded at about 9:08 a.m. to the crash, which occurred along northbound I-469 at the ramp to go north on I-69. One dispatcher described the highway conditions as a “solid sheet of ice.”

A passenger vehicle had slid underneath one of the tractor-trailers, but no serious injuries had been reported as of 9:45 a.m. One person reported being hurt but was in good condition, a dispatcher said.

Police shut down a stretch of I-469, as well as the ramp to northbound I-469 from Maplecrest Road. Police reported many other slide-offs and collisions due to icy conditions Wednesday morning.
