In its 56th year, the Mad Anthonys Celebrity Classic for Children continues to reinvent itself, and this is the biggest transition yet.
The group is moving its annual golf outing from its traditional June date to Monday afternoon to be in conjunction with next week's Web.com Tour's Hotel Fitness Championship. Members will not play with celebrities but with golfers in a pro-am format with a 1 p.m. shotgun start at Sycamore Hills golf Club.
Gates open at 12 p.m., and free parking for spectators is being directed to a lot adjacent to Sycamore Hills. Tickets cost $10 ahead of time instead of the traditional $20 and can be purchased at https://tickettapp.com/wms/buy/wga/hfc. Tickets purchased the day of the event at the gate will cost $15.
Pairings for the Mad Anthonys will not be announced until Monday.
The Mad Anthony's annual Red Coat banquet will be held at the Memorial Coliseum starting at 5:30 p.m. Hotel Fitness Championship sponsor Bruce Dye will receive the organization's annual Red Coat. His companies have also sponsored the Junior PGA Championship, Mad Anthony's Charity Classic and the USGA Girls' Junior Championship.
In 2007, the Mad Anthonys began a partnership with Mad Anthonys Children's Hope House, dedicating 90 percent of its fundraising efforts to the organization. The Mad Anthonys Children's Hope House provides nearby lodging and support services for the families of children undergoing pediatric and neonatal treatment.
The Hotel Fitness Championship tournament itself starts Thursday with individual round tickets costing $25 or $65 for a weekly grounds pass.
