It doesn't take long for new construction these days, it seems. Work continues on the construction of Fort Wayne's first Costco Wholesale. The 150,000-square-foot store off Lima Road could employ up to 180 when it opens. The company's website has applications for a variety of jobs, including baker, forklift driver, optical sales assistant, senior hearing aid specialist and cashier. The membership warehouse club opened its first store in 1976 as Price Club in San Diego. Costco has three types of membership, which cost the following annually: Executive ($110) to get a 2 percent reward, Business ($55) for up to six additional card holders, and Gold Star ($55) for individuals and households, according to the company's website. The website carries a variety of products including appliances, clothing and food, and the more unusual: caskets and urns.
