It's a big week for the film awards season with the Golden Globe awards tonight, Academy Award nominations on Thursday and Screen Actors Guild awards on Saturday.

Here are some bits of awards trivia to boost your street cred with movie buffs. Years listed are years the awards were presented.

The Golden Globes, which annually awards two best picture trophies for comedies/musicals and dramas, has had little success in predicting the eventual top Oscar winner. In the past 10 years, Hollywood Foreign Press Association voters have only managed it four times. Which Globes winner did not go on to win the Academy Award for best picture?

A. "The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King" (2004)

Answer: B. The Directors' Guild of America (awarded Jan. 25) has nailed the selection nine of 10 times, while the Producers Guild of America (Jan. 19) picked seven of 10.

This year there are several, but Chiwetel Ejiofor, likely a best-actor Oscar nominee, is probably the highest-profile. How to you pronounce the "12 Years a Slave" actor's name?
