BLOOMINGTON – Yogi Ferrell didn't hesitate. Why should he? Was going 0-for-8 from three-point range any worse than being 0-or-7?

So there was Ferrell, Indiana's super star sophomore point guard, daring to do what he hadn't done the entire game in a pressure cooker of a finale against an unbeaten opponent that had owned the Hoosiers for seven years.

Ferrell hit a tie-breaking three-pointer in the final two minutes to propel IU to a 75-72 victory over No. 3 Wisconsin.

Ferrell finished with a game-high 25 points, 19 in the second half. He added four assists and had no turnovers. In his last two games he has 11 assists and one turnover.

One other thing. He finished 1-for-8 on three-pointers.

With Ferrell leading the way, the Hoosiers finished with a 52-44 edge in points in the paint, even though forward Noah Vonleh scored just 10 points.

Here are his thoughts as IU improved to 12-5 overall, 2-2 in the Big Ten:

On IU's success in attacking the rim:

“We wanted to transition and try to score in the first five, six seconds. Me, (Stanford Robinson), Will (Sheehey), Evan (Gordon). Guys like that bringing up the ball. We wanted to keep attacking the rim. We noticed they weren't helping off. We just wanted to go to the rim.”

Did you hesitate on taking that eighth three-pointer?

“No, not really. I felt like I was open and pulled it. Most of my threes felt good, they just weren't going in. So I had to make just one, I'm glad it was the last one.”

On his offensive confidence:

“I tried to have an aggressive mindset. I knew some of my layups weren't going to fall early, but I wasn't going to let that get to me. I was trying to get to the rim and put some points up, or kick it out. That's the mindset I always have.
