Scouting report: Looking for arguably the top defensive prospect committed to the Irish? Look no further than Morgan, a jack-of-all-trades linebacker that could be a mainstay at the position for Notre Dame over several seasons. Morgan is versatile enough to fill a variety of roles within a defense, but is projected to fill the middle and be the captain of the defense in South Bend. Morgan has the perfect blend of speed and aggressiveness that is so key at inside linebacker while also showing the discipline to not over pursue plays and be able to read an opponent prior and during a play. While his size is there, he will have to work on getting stronger before he can win battles on a consistent basis with top-flight offensive lineman, tight ends and running backs. Morgan could see some playing time as a true freshman in a backup role or on special teams, and projects long term as a stud on the front seven for the Fighting Irish.
