Mad Ants head to Canton after win over Sioux Falls

The Mad Ants, fortified by three NBA players, will try to carve into Canton’s division lead on the road Sunday after a solid home win.

The Ants beat Sioux Falls 93-81 on Saturday in front of 4,275 fans at Memorial Coliseum to improve their record to 17-12. They will play the Canton Charge (19-11) at 5 p.m. Sunday in Canton with a chance to cut into Canton’s NBA Development League East Division lead.

Both Tony Mitchells came up big for the Ants against Sioux Falls. Mitchell, last year’s rookie of the year, led Fort Wayne with 18 points while Mitchell, the rookie on assignment from the Detroit Pistons, recorded a double-double with 12 points and 14 rebounds.

Indiana Pacers assignee Orlando Johnson scored 13 points with eight rebounds, Ron Howard scored 12 and Sadiel Rojas added 10.

Sioux Falls (17-11) was led by Henry Walker with 15 points.
