FORT WAYNE — I know, I know. It seems completely and totally impossible. I mean, just last weekend, you were again shuddering under the threat of another weather forecast calling for snow.

But itís true. The days are getting longer. The sun seems a bit more enthusiastic in its warming duties, and you can now drive home in the evening in (mostly) daylight.

After Sunday, though, itís going to feel even more like spring as those of us here in the land of daylight saving time, like it or not, will set our clocks forward one hour at 2 a.m. Sunday.

Your smartphones and iPads will make the move on their own, as will some of the newer appliances. But if you have an old grandfather clock or a watch, make sure you remember to switch.

This is one of the earliest dates weíve moved our clocks forward, and daylight saving time will extend until Sunday, Nov. 2, when it goes back to standard time.

Make sure you squeeze in your nap Sunday afternoon to make up for that hour you will lose, because studies have shown a link between the springing forward of the clock and car crashes on the days immediately following.

But when you drive home Monday evening from the office, know that the high temperatures are supposed to reach the mid-50s. And thereís a good chance you can take a walk in daylight.
