Up next for the Mad Ants: Tonight at Iowa Energy

When: 8 p.m.

Where: Wells Fargo Arena, Des Moines, Iowa

On the web: NBA.com/dleague

Records: Mad Ants 28-15, Iowa 24-17

Probable Mad Ants starters: Ron Howard – 6-5 guard, 20.7 ppg; Sadiel Rojas – 6-4 guard, 12 ppg; Trey McKinney-Jones – 6-6 guard, 15.2 ppg; Will Frisby – 6-8 center, 7.3 ppg; Matt Bouldin – 6-5 guard, 12.5 ppg.

Update: The Mad Ants hit the road after a huge win over the Los Angeles D-Fenders in a battle of probable playoff teams. Iowa is another playoff contender and has won 13 of 18 home games. …Mad Ants coach Conner Henry continues to stick with a rotation that has two dynamic scorers, Tony Mitchell and Jamaal Franklin, coming off the bench. Mitchell gives the Ants three players who can play either the point guard or 2-guard spot, and Mitchell also can play the 3 with his size. In his two games back from a 10-day stint with the Milwaukee Bucks, Mitchell has hit 20 of 38 shots, including 9-of-15 from three-point range. He has scored 26 points in both games. …The other combo guards are Ron Howard and Matt Bouldin, and both are playing well.

Ants coach Conner Henry: “We're deep. Tony probably deserves to play 40 minutes. Jamaal deserves to play 40 minutes. Trey (McKinney-Jones) deserves to play 40 minutes. Ron deserves, Sadiel (Rojas). There's just not 40 minutes out there for a lot of guys. What I'm pleased about, and I hope the guys are realizing, 'When I get in I have to play my minutes and do the best I can for the group.' "

Ants forward Tony Mitchell: “It's always good to get a win, period, and beating somebody that equal or better than us is even better. We came out (against LA) and played hard, got defensive stops when we needed to, shared the ball and at the end, made the right plays. We know any given day anybody can come in and beat us. It's on us to go out and do what we're supposed to do as a team and go out and win. When a team is as good as the LA D-Fenders, it's even better to show we can match up with them going forward into the playoffs.”
