City produces TV show to highlight 'Legacy' fund

Mayor Tom Henry’s office has produced a television program highlighting the city’s Legacy initiative. “Legacy Fort Wayne” features interviews with Deputy Director of Community Development Pam Holocher; City Controller Pat Roller; Deputy Mayor Karl Bandemer and City Councilman Tom Smith. Leaders discuss the history of the Legacy fund, current projects and the program’s future.

Legacy funds come from two sources: the City Light lease settlement between the city and Indiana Michigan Power; and the Fort Wayne Community Trust, established by the city more than 30 years ago using a portion of the annual light lease payments. The funds are designed to provide catalytic investment, leverage additional resources and directly benefit residents.

The fund had $51.7 million available at the end of 2013 and is anticipated to contain $111.8 million by 2025.

"Legacy Fort Wayne” can be seen on Comcast Channel 58 and Frontier Channel 28 Mondays at 8 p.m.; Wednesdays at 12:30 p.m.; Thursdays at 6:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m.; Fridays at 9:30 p.m. and Sundays at 7 a.m. The program is also available at More information is also available at
