After a jury convicted him in February of nine counts related to the abuse of a young girl, a 38-year-old Fort Wayne man was sentenced to 120 years in prison Monday.

Sean Patrick Hogan, of the 2500 block of Birchwood Avenue, was charged in September with four counts of Class A felony child molesting, four counts of Class C felony child molesting and one count of dissemination of matter harmful to minors, a Class D felony.

The girl was known to Hogan and used to frequently stay at his house. According to court documents, he insisted she sleep with him in his bed.

She told investigators the molestations began in 2004, and continued until 2013 when Hogan used handcuffs on the girl and had sex with her, according to court documents.

Hogan was also accused of sending the girl a picture of himself in his underwear and taking at least one partly naked picture of her, court documents said.

According to court documents, the girl claimed he threatened to kill her father or burn down their house if she ever disclosed what he was doing to her.

After she told a school counselor in May, the police began to investigate.

On Feb. 27, an Allen Superior Court jury convicted Hogan of all the charges against him.

Allen Superior Judge John Surbeck sentenced Hogan to a total of 120 years in prison, including 30 years each for the Class A felony charges. He ordered those sentences to be served consecutively.

He sentenced Hogan to four years on each of the Class C felony charges and 18 months on the Class D felony, but ordered those sentences served consecutive to one another but at the same time as the heavier sentence on the more serious felonies.
