The rest of the story

Last week when the news broke that Scotty's Brewhouse was moving in where Buckets Sports Pub and Grub is I couldn't say what would happen to Buckets because their employees hadn't yet been told. Buckets won't relocate, said general manager Adam Hallett. He said owner Kevin Music hasn't announced a closing date yet, but he expects it could be as soon as this weekend. It depends on how much stock they have left (they aren't ordering anything) and how much staff they have left, as employees leave for new jobs. Scotty's likely will open in September after extensive remodeling.

Downtown McDonald's offering specials

To celebrate its remodeling the downtown McDonald's at 515 W. Jefferson Blvd. is offering specials this week:

•Today and Thursday: Buy one get one Iced Mocha, Hot Mocha, Flavored Latte, Smoothie or Frappe.

•Wednesday: Buy one get one Big Mac or Quarter Pounder with Cheese.

•Friday: Two for $4 Big Mac.

•Saturday: $1.99 Happy Meal.

•Sunday: Buy one get one Sausage McMuffin with Egg or Egg McMuffin.

Pretzel place at Jefferson Pointe

Ben's Soft Pretzels has opened in Jefferson Pointe, 4130 W. Jefferson Blvd., between Barnes & Noble and Soma Intimates.

Ben's sells jumbo soft pretzels with an array of dipping sauces, including marinara, Amish sweet mustard, vanilla icing and caramel. See more at www.benspretzels.com.

Update on TGI Friday's

Due to heavy snowfall, a portion of the Glenbrook Square roof collapsed in February, temporarily closing TGI Friday's. The restaurant posted this message on its Facebook page March 18: “Construction on the roof is set to begin in April and be finished in May. After the roof is complete, we'll take over and reconstruct the inside of our restaurant. Looking to reopen sometime June-July. We appreciate you all sticking around with us and we can't wait to get back to serving you all the Friday's style!”
