I can’t remember which Al Pacino movie I saw first: “Serpico” or “Dog Day Afternoon,” but I do remember Pacino left quite an impression on me. The brash actor could play both criminals and police officers (any role really) adeptly and convincingly. I’d have to say that “The Godfather: Part II” and “Scent of a Woman” are probably my favorite films.
Another film of Pacino’s, “Scarface” (1983), can be seen at 8 tonight on IFC. In it, Pacino takes over a drug cartel. Directed by Brian De Palma, the film also stars Robert Loggia, Michelle Pfeiffer and Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio.
Here is a quiz about Pacino and his films.
