Don your suits and cheap sunglasses — ZZ Top is coming to town

Go get yourself some cheap sunglasses — because ZZ Top, the “little ol' band from Texas," is coming back to Fort Wayne for the first time in seven years. The guys with the bushy, long beards will perform at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 8 at Foellinger Outdoor Theatre, 3411 Sherman Blvd., in Franke Park. Tickets will go on sale at 8 a.m. Aug. 4.

Known for blues rock songs including "La Grange," "Tush," "Legs" and "Sharp Dressed Man," ZZ Top was inducted into The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2004. The trio, two of whom are known for their long bushy beards, have been performing together since 1969.

Tickets may be purchased online at, by calling 427-6000, visiting the Parks & Recreation Department office at 705 E. State Blvd., 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday-Friday, or visiting any of the three Wooden Nickel Records stores in Fort Wayne. Ticket prices are $49 - $99.
