Adolfo Reina hit two home runs to lead the TinCaps to a 7-4 win over Quad Cities on Thursday at Davenport, Iowa. It was Fort Wayne's third win in four games after going through a 13-game losing streak.
Reina connected for his fifth and sixth homers of the season – solo shots in the second and eighth innings. The TinCaps' catcher added a single in the fifth for three of Fort Wayne's 11 hits.
Franmil Reyes also homered for Fort Wayne. The right fielder hit a three-homer in the third to give the TinCaps a 5-0 lead. It was Reyes' 8th homer of the season.
Besides Reina, other TinCaps to have multi-hit games were Reyes, Trea Turner and Jake Bauers. Reyes had a single to go with his home run while Turner collected a triple and single and Bauers a double and single.
Ronnie Richardson and Nick Shulz had the other hits for Fort Wayne.
Jimmy Brasoban got his first win on the mound this season in five decisions. The right hander allowed three runs (one earned) in five innings. The River Bandits had five hits off Brasoban and struck out three times.
Josh Richardson relieved Brasoban and got out six of the seven batters he faced. The lone batter to reach base against Richardson was Chase McDonald – who hit his 7th homer of the season.
Ryan Butler got his first save of the season by pitching shutout ball over the final two innings.
Earlier Thursday, the TinCaps in conjunction with the San Diego Padres announced that Eric Yardley has been transferred to Fort Wayne from Class AA San Antonio. Yardley, a right-handed relief pitcher, played for Fort Wayne earlier this season and was 1-2 in 24 appearances.
