Indiana's public access counselor, Luke Britt, will discus the state's public access laws at 5:30 p.m. July 30 in the Omni Room in the lower level of Citizens Square. Britt will cover the requirements and responsibilities of local government and the public for Indiana's Open Meetings Law and Access to Public Records Act.
Britt was invited by the city. In a statement, Mayor Tom Henry said he is "committed to openness and transparency in conducting the public's business . . . This session with the public access counselor is an opportunity for members of the public to have a better understanding of these laws that cover local government's actions.”
The event is free and open to the public.
