Lloyd, Perez lead TinCaps over Beloit

Kyle Lloyd and Fernando Perez led the TinCaps to a 6-2 win over Beloit on Friday at Parkview Field. Lloyd started on the mound for Fort Wayne and pitched 5 2/3 innings of shutout ball while Perez drove in four runs.

Lloyd allowed four hits and struck out seven to improve his record to 4-4.

Perez had three hits, including a solo home run in the third inning. It was his 9th of the year to tie him for the team lead with Dustin Peterson and Ryan Miller. Perez also had a single and a double to finish a triple shy of the cycle.

Trea Turner, Henry Charles and Miller contributed two hits each to the TinCaps' offense. Also collecting hits in the game for Fort Wayne were Peterson, Jake Bauers and Josh VanMeter.

The TinCaps begin a three-game home series with Wisconsin at 7:05 tonight. Game two of the series is at 1:05 p.m. Sunday.
