Alger having impressive season for Lake Elsinore

Former Leo and Indiana Tech pitcher Brandon Alger is having an impressive season for Lake Elsinore in the Class A Advanced California League. Alger, who was a 2012 draft pick of the San Diego Padres, has 10 saves this season with 58 strikeouts in 52 1/3 innings. The 23-year old lefthander has a 3-3 record with a 3.10 ERA. Alger has 42 appearances – all in relief.
