Seven women charged in series of thefts from Fort Wayne retailers

Seven Fort Wayne women each face a felony charge of corrupt business influence for their alleged involvement in a series of thefts from local retailers.

The charges filed Thursday in Allen Superior Court stem from thefts from April 17 through June 30 at Visions Optical, Longe Optical, CVS and Walgreen's drug stores, Charming Charlie, Bath & Body Works, and Walmart, an affidavit filed in the case said.

The women allegedly would enter the store, often in a group of four, pick up items and then run out of the store, sometimes concealing items in their purses, the affidavit said. Items taken included designer eyeglass frames from the vision centers and detergents, colognes, perfumes and household items from other stores. Members of the group then would make phone calls to family or friends or use the Internet to sell the items, the affidavit said.

Charged in the case are Roseanna S. Nelson, 21, of the 4000 block of Robinwood Drive; Ieasha R. Warfield, 23, of the 2500 block of Marcy Lane; Shamyra Liston of the 7900 block of Serenity Drive; Crystal Gamble of the 2900 block of McCormick St.; Patricia C. Ensley of the 400 block of Pasadena Drive; and Tasha L. Ensley and Deosha L. Ensley, both of the 4000 block of Avondale Drive. Ages were unavailable Thursday for five of the women.
