After dozens of colleagues and county officials wished him well, long-time Allen Superior Court Executive Jerry Noble received a Sagamore of the Wabash award on his last day on the job.

For more than 40 years, Noble, 64, worked in the Allen County court system, much of it running the business side of Allen Superior Court.

He has managed the court’s equipment, staff and the court’s relationships with the other branches of county government.

On hand to present the award, Indiana Appeals Court Judge Paul D. Mathias noted that Noble answered to nine bosses – the judges in the Superior Court – as well as the three Allen County commissioners and the seven members of the Allen County Council.

Also recognized for their years of service Friday were Gloria Perez, who has been with Superior Court since 1978, and Rose Moya, who had been there for 14 years.

Both worked for Noble in the court’s administrative offices.

In presenting the Sagamore to Noble, Mathias, a former Allen Superior Court judge, praised Noble’s distinguished and humble service to the citizens of Indiana.

At times emotional, Noble accepted the award, thanking God and those he worked with.
