Fort Wayne Newspapers is inviting moms to take a night for themselves.
The sixth annual Moms Night Out, sponsored by the business agent for The Journal Gazette and The News-Sentinel, will be from 5:30 to 9 p.m. today at Ceruti's Summit Park, 6601 Innovation Blvd. Women can browse more than 70 vendor booths and take in the evening's entertainment.
Hors d'oeuvres, a chocolate fountain and a cash bar will be available during the night, which will feature former radio personality Barb Richards as the keynote speaker. Local musicians Bekah Bradley and Kenny Taylor will perform.
Carson's, also a sponsor, will have a fashion show, and local clothing designer Anton Alexander will display some of his work.
“I also have a clothing line and have a production for my clothing line right here in Fort Wayne, and I do designer dress shirts for men,” Alexander says. “It's a great opportunity to display what I do because I do a lot of custom work. I'll bring some of my work as well as have, like, a little three- to five-minute discussion of the logistics of it and what I do.
The talk will include a look at “the market in menswear and how we stand in Fort Wayne versus the bigger cities and even further in Europe.”
Alexander will also display fabrics.
Admission costs $25 at the door.
