Carroll wins boys', girls' varsity team titles at Huntington Invitational cross country meet

Runners from 20 northeast and central Indiana high schools competed Saturday at the Huntington Invitational cross country meet at the Huntington North High School course near Crestview Middle School in Huntington.

Madison Fruchey of Carroll won the girls' varsity race in a time of 19 minutes, 11 seconds, according to results posed on www.runindiana.com. Mark Beckmann of DeKalb took an early lead and won the boys' varsity race easily in 15 minutes, 47 seconds.

In Top 5 team results, Carroll won the girls' varsity event, followed by Warsaw, Huntington North, Homestead and Bishop Dwenger. Carroll also won the boys' varsity team title, followed by West Noble, Lafayette Jefferson, Warsaw and Concordia Lutheran.
