Hollywood veterans Steve Martin  and Alec Baldwin  will co-host the 82nd Academy Awards ceremony.

Martin has hosted twice, in 2001 and 2003, and has been a presenter several times. Baldwin is a first-timer.

Baldwin, 51, who stars on NBC’s “30 Rock,” called the Oscar gig “the opportunity of a lifetime.” Martin, 64, said that he is “happy to co-host the Oscars with my enemy Alec Baldwin.”

The ceremony is March 7.

‘Southland’ on TNT

“Southland” lives! John Wells’ gritty police drama, canceled by NBC before its second-season premiere, has been picked up by TNT.

The network said it would air the first seven episodes (which aired on NBC) and the six Season 2 episodes, completed before NBC decided to cancel the show.

“Southland” will premiere on TNT on Jan. 12.

Actress back on TV

Kirstie Alley , 58, will star in a new A&E reality “docu-series” about her life as a single mom and her efforts to lose weight.

The network has ordered 10 episodes of the series, which follows the actress at work, at home with her teenage children and as she launches a new weight-loss program.

The series airs in 2010.
