Second book on Northfield now out
The book “Overtime: Small School, Giant Dream 20 Years Later,” which details the lives of those who were part of Northfield’s Sweet 16 boys basketball team of 1989-90, is available through http://www.authorhouse.com">www.authorhouse.com.
Penned by Raymond Moscowitz, a member of the Indiana Journalism Hall of Fame, it is a sequel to the 1990 book “Small School, Giant Dream: A Year of Hoosier High School Hoopla.”
Moscowitz’s latest book looks into the lives of players, managers, coaches and administrators, including coach Steve McClure’s battle with cancer and the death of assistant coach Steve Desper.
“With an enrollment of 382 students, Northfield was more than just another outstanding basketball team that year,” Moscowitz wrote in the forward.
“The squad was a group of young men who possessed exceptional academic ability and character. It was a group coached by three men who possessed both basketball and academic intelligence, high moral fiber, and a belief in the youngsters they mentored.”
