Statement issued Monday:

Fort Wayne, IN. – October 25, 2010 – Ted Linn, News Director for WANE-TV has announced Jonathan Conder as the new Chief Meteorologist for the News Channel 15 weather department. Conder comes to Fort Wayne from Excelsior, Minnesota where he was a meteorologist for Weathernation.

“Jonathan cut his teeth on the gamut of Midwest weather. He will bring expertise, yet calm during even the most severe of weather,” said Ted Linn, News Channel 15 News Director. “We have you covered. Four certified meteorologists on staff will allow News Channel 15 to deliver weather coverage on the air, online or on the go virtually 24/7. That’s what we mean by Coverage You Can Count On and no one else in town can say that.”

While working as a weekend meteorologist at KFOR-TV in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma,

Conder earned a First Place 2008 AP Award for weather coverage and a First Place 2008 SPJ award for weather reporting. Jonathan began his career as a morning meteorologist at KIMT-TV in Mason City Iowa.

Conder said, "It is an honor being named the new Chief Meteorologist for WANE-TV and a member of the News Channel 15 weather team. I am excited to bring my severe weather knowledge and experience to an already strong weather brand."

Jonathan Conder will begin his on-air Chief Meteorologist duties Thursday, October 28, 2010.
