Anniversary celebration

Antioch Baptist Church, 425 Agnes St., will observe its 42nd anniversary with the Rev. Melvin Knox of East Chicago at 10:45 a.m. Sunday, followed by Pastor Sylvester Hunter and Union Baptist Church World Changing Ministries at 4 p.m.

Brothers ordained

Bishop Kevin C. Rhoades will ordain Deacons Matthew Coonan and Terrence Coonan Jr. to the Catholic priesthood at 11 a.m. today at Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 1103 S. Calhoun St. The brothers are members of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.


A free ice cream social will benefit Kate’s Kart from noon to 4 p.m. June 18 at Grace Point Church, 8611 Mayhew Road.

Beginning at 11 a.m. Sunday, Pastor Steve Connor of Taylor Chapel United Methodist Church, 10145 Maysville Road, will be shooting 100 free throws and accepting pledges for each successful basket to help promote awareness and raise funds for his mission trip to Kenya.

Nature program

The program “Our Earth: A Place of Encountering God” will be presented Monday through Wednesday at Victory Noll Center, 1900 W. Park Drive, Huntington. Cost of the retreat is $50 for three days or $20 for individual sessions. To register, call 260-356-0628, ext. 174.

Ruppert reception

St. Therese Catholic Church, 2304 Lower Huntington Road, will have a farewell reception for the Rev. Dave Ruppert following Mass at 10 a.m. Sunday.

Vacation Bible schools

Agape Church of the Brethren, 11610 Lima Road, will have “Genesis 1 – In the beginning God created … Animals,” a vacation Bible school for ages 3 to adult, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, also June 20 and 21.
