Riverside Manufacturing in Huntertown has been selected to Inc. Magazine's top 5,000 fastest-growing, privately owned companies across the country for consecutive years.
Riverside Manufacturing, 14510 Lima Road, fell from No.989 to 1,928, but still saw 165.2 percent growth from 2005 through 2008. Its revenue grew from $26.4 million to $70 million during that time frame.
The company makes wire harnesses and electronic components for special-use commercial vehicles. According to last year's report from Inc. - which offers tools and services to help owners and CEOs start, run and grow businesses - the company's primary product has been the Humvee, increasingly used in combat for the war in Iraq.
According to documents filed with the Allen County Department of Planning Services last month, the company is looking to expand by spending $600,000 on a 7,600-square-foot engineering center adjacent to its existing plant. It would add 32 jobs to the existing 150-employee work force.
Riverside was founded in 1947 and purchased by Fred Merritt in 2002.
Fort Wayne companies Kruse Worldwide Courier and Precision Laser Services also cracked Inc.'s list.
Kruse Worldwide Courier, 5020 Investment Drive, is a logistics and transportation company that employs 55 and provides mail transportation, delivery and secure storage for corporate clients. It saw growth of 28.2 percent to $5.4 million and is ranked No.4,553.
Precision Laser Services, 14730 Lima Road, increased its revenue 26.6 percent to $3 million in the manufacturing sector and is ranked No.4,587. The 30-employee company makes parts for a wide range of commerce - industrial, military, food service equipment, transportation and medical instruments.
