INDIANAPOLIS — Running back Mike Hart was signed to Indianapolis’ practice squad Sunday, one day after being released in the team’s final cuts. Hart, Michigan’s career rushing leader, slid through the draft in 2008 because of a poor time in the 40-yard dash and his smallish size.

Though the 5-foot-9, 206-pound running back made the team last season, he sustained a season-ending knee injury in October and was slowed in training camp with an ankle injury.

The Colts also claimed linebacker Cody Glenn off waivers. Glenn was Washington’s fifth-round draft pick in April.

To make room for Glenn on the 53-man roster, Indy waived safety Matt Giordano. He started six games in his four-year career with Indy.

Along with Hart, the Colts signed offensive lineman Jaimie Thomas to the practice squad. Thomas was Indy’s seventh-round pick in April. Indy added receivers Sam Giguere, John Matthews and Taj Smith; tight end Colin Cloherty; and defensive tackle John Gill to the practice squad.
