Wind advisory
Allen County is under a high- wind advisory until Tuesday afternoon, according to weatherbug.com. This means winds of 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph are expected. The winds are due to a strong low-pressure front moving through the area, causing cooler temperatures.
According to police scanner traffic this morning, one tree had fallen in the area of East State Boulevard due to the high winds, and various power outages were reported.
Warmer temperatures are expected to return by the end of the week.

Road dedicated to late state Sen. Ford
A piece of Indiana 3 was to be named today in honor of the late state Sen. David C. Ford, who represented a portion of southern Allen County.
The Indiana Department of Transportation-hosted ceremony was to dedicate the “Sen. David C. Ford Memorial Highway” a 5.5-mile stretch of Indiana 3 beginning north of Hartford City. The late senator from Hartford City died March 5, 2008, after battling pancreatic cancer. His District 19 included all or parts of Adams, Allen, Blackford, Grant and Wells counties.
President Pro Tem David Long (R-Fort Wayne) said in a statement that Ford's legislative legacy includes “laws that helped move Indiana and our schools forward, especially in the field of technology.”
Expect slow going on I-69 south
Oversized tractor trailers will cause reduced speeds and traffic obstructions for the next several weeks on Interstate 69 from the Michigan state line at Exit 157, to Marion at Exit 64, during daytime hours.
The semis will travel in convoys, escorted by Indiana State Police, as they move individual press sections from the General Motors plant in Grand Rapids, Mich., to the GM Metal Fabrication Plant in Marion. The convoys began their treks Wednesday and will continue through mid-October, according to the Indiana Department of Transportation.
INDOT said it will release more information on the remaining press loads as mid-October draws closer.
INDOT encourages drivers to select alternate routes and/or plan accordingly for traffic delays on I-69 southbound.
