The 700 jobs coming to Fort Wayne had been promised to unemployed union workers. These 700 families will be buying or renting a home, purchasing groceries, gasoline, clothing, etc., all locally. … They will be increasing the tax base for the Fort Wayne area, which will in turn make this area more attractive to potential new business.
When there are two sides strongly for or against an issue, neither side will tell you the whole truth, only what helps their own cause. Investigate for yourself and discover all the facts, then make up your own mind.
Concerning the state of the economy, no one is smart enough to be the president of anything. And we all need to blame our universities for not standing a proper century watch.
In response to the tailgater (driver) who thinks he/she has the right to tailgate: Unless there is a traffic sign posted saying, “Slower traffic move to the right,” you are out of luck. Every individual has the right to travel at a chosen speed unless driving on an interstate with a posted minimum speed.
Now we discover the amount paid to the city for trash pickup is substantially larger than needed to pay for the actual disposal — as much as $700,000 in the next year and well over $1 million in a regular year. Why does the city have this little slush fund?

Why in the world is the city solid waste department running a … cash reserve? Wouldn't it be better to have a “balanced” budget and not charge us so much?
Improper, arbitrary and selective use of sales figures for “trending” created this problem (with property taxes). Selling an updated house in the area doesn't make the rest of the area worth more, too.

Thanks to the city, residents in the northeast have a new racetrack. It's called St. Joe Center Road. Sheriff (Ken) Fries and (Fort Wayne Police) Chief (Rusty) York need to forget about the 911 call center and get their cars out there.
Tell me again: Why do we have to go through the hassle of changing our clocks?
Next spring, let's move our clocks ahead one-half hour. Then leave it forever. A compromise?
