Closings due to weather

With Fort Wayne getting possibly 4-6 inches of snow into Friday, several events have been canceled and schools dismissed early.

American Legion David Parrish Post 296, 130 W. Tillman Road, is closed today due to the winter weather advisory. It will reopen Friday unless announced otherwise.

All evening classes at the Kachmann Mind Body Institute are canceled tonight.

All SACS elementary, middle school, high school, and community after-school and evening activities have been canceled.

The Cornerstone Youth Center in Monroeville will be closed for center hours and evening programming today.

Cooper, Jennings and Weisser Youth Centers will close at 6 There will be no evening activities at these sites.

First Presbyterian Theater's 7:30 pm preview performance today of "The Way We Live Now: 25 Years Later" has been cancelled.

The H1N1 vaccination clinic scheduled for 4-7 p.m. today at Stone's Hill Church near Ligonier has been cancelled.

The Francine's Friends Mobile Mammography coach scheduled to be at DeBrand's Fine Chocolates on Friday has been cancelled. Schedulers from the Breast Diagnostic Center will contact those with appointments to reschedule. Those women who were planning to come out should call 483-1847 to schedule an appointment for another date.

The prenatal class scheduled for tonight at the Parkview North campus has been canceled.

Fort Wayne Community Schools will dismiss some students early today.

All after-school and extracurricular activities are canceled for FWCS. Activity buses at middle and high schools will not run today.

With the exception of Anthis and Towles, FWCS is dismissing middle and high school students early at 2 p.m. today. This will allow time for secondary bus routes to be completed in time to return to elementary schools.

Anthis students who need FWCS transportation will dismiss at 1 p.m. to arrive at their home school to ride their bus home. All other Anthis students should remain in class until regular dismissal time.

All evening classes at Anthis are canceled.

Towles will remain on its normal schedule. Elementary students will dismiss at their regular time.

Transportation will continue to be provided today for the after-school care program sponsored by the YMCA.
