According to a report from the Fort Wayne Police Department the man told them he had been meeting with two men to sell them a sell phone. They told him they would prefer to do it at his house. The man said he was homeless but led them to South Wayne Street. Once there they wanted to do the exchange in the alley. He refused, he would not explain to the police exactly how he had been shot in the leg. Officers found several small caliber casings in the grass. The man who had been shot was transported to Lutheran Hospital.
