Newly elected Fort Wayne NAACP chapter president Larry Gist is no stranger to racism. Growing up in Portsmouth, Va. in the early 1960s, life as a typical American middle class family was not easy for blacks.
Mitch Harper, who has been active in Republican politics since high school and interested even before that, is a city councilman now.
