Knotoday brings fiber arts to Fort Wayne
Knotoday is an emerging indie arts and crafts brand, dreamed up by local artisan Cheyenne Gonzales, who creates beautiful fiber art pieces like wall hangings, garlands and plant hangers of all manners.
Gonzales’s goods are decidedly more chic than when she started weaving potholders at 4 years old. From natural and neutral tones to vibrant hues and dipped ombre effects, Gonzales hand-dyes the cord and weaves her works of art inside her apartment. Prices range from $8-$100, and Gonzales is happy to accommodate custom orders.
She’s currently working on a backdrop for a wedding, a macrame headboard and custom plant/wall hangings. Using a gifted bag of vintage macrame beads and cord, Gonzales recently created an adorable owl wall hanging, a vibe straight from the 70s but perfectly suited for today’s eclectic design styles.
Knotoday can be found at local markets, where Gonzales doesn’t just sell her wares but demonstrates her work on current pieces, giving shoppers a look at what goes into her intricate designs, welcoming visitors and their questions with a friendly smile.
Knotoday hosts special events and workshops, such as the rapidly sold-out first edition of Macrame & Mimosas, with retail partners and other brands around town. Gonzales also loves to teach both children and adults how to make their own fiber art and has hosted fun, interactive private parties for small groups. 260.255.1902
