Leo boutique offers indie home goods
Nestled in a small antique home on Center Street in Leo, you’ll find Abode, a charming boutique filled with home decor accents, accessories and a small selection of furniture.
The shop features unique, one-off, repurposed furniture such as a perfectly restored mid-century modern sofa, handmade goods by local artisans and hostess gifts like air plants and candles. The boutique itself was thoughtfully remodeled by the owners, interior designer Carey Burchfield and husband Nick.
Walking through the space, customers will notice the yin and yang of old and new. The charm of the original structure is juxtaposed with slick new additions such as the delightfully small kitchen area, which is used for various events and projects. The goods are curated with Burchfield’s designer eye, who mixes industrial finds, soft textiles, hand-lettered chalk boards, traditional wall art and antique and vintage furniture.
Abode also stocks pieces made by local, indie makers like Hello Jordan Art and Featherwood Studio by Susan Reynolds. Abode also offers interior design consulting services for those who need help putting it all together.
