Need a Lyft?

Ride-hailing company comes to Fort Wayne

There was a small rumbling on Reddit just about a week ago.

Now, it’s official.

If you’re looking for a way to get around and don’t have a car — or maybe aren’t quite in driving shape, for whatever reason — we have a new option for ride-sharing in Fort Wayne.

Lyft began operating here today.

The San Franscisco-based company comes to the city as part of a major expansion planned throughout 2017. Its rival, the behemoth Uber, has been operating in Fort Wayne for more than a year already.

While ride-hailing apps like Uber and Lyft are primarily used by urbanites and Millennials, those who belong to older generations have found the companies useful in making some extra cash to supplement their retirement.

So if you’re need of a little side gig, or a ride, the options are growing.
