Need legal advice? You can get it Monday — for free
Attoneys will offer free consultation for those in need
Many of us have probably made a lawyer joke or two through the years.
But for some of us, unluckily, there might be that time when we really need one. And it becomes hard if you don’t have the scratch for that bit of legal advice when you’re in dire need.
The Indiana State Bar Association is sponsoring “Talk to a Lawyer Today” on Monday in an effort to provide free legal assistance to the under-served in the community. This pro bono program is an annual tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and provides local attorneys the chance to offer free legal consultations to members of the public who would not otherwise be able to afford counsel.
Locally, attorneys will be on hand to give 10 to 15 minute consultations at the Main Branch of the Allen County Library from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. There is also a local hotline available for residents, in both Spanish and English, at (260) 407-0917.
