Signature Dish
POP GOES THE KOLACHE: Traditionally, Kolache are round Czech pastries with a filling of poppyseed paste, prune jam or a German cream cheese called quark. Kolache were introduced in Texas by Czech immigrants and they have become more popular nationwide in the last 15 years or so. Fort Wayne got its first kolache restaurant, American Kolache, last fall. American Kolache offers many sweet and savory options including the Veggie Popper (pictured). It is a variation on the Jalapeño popper appetizer with other vegetables standing in for the chili pepper. 6405 Lima Road, 260.372.1758
