David and Faith Van Gilder
David and Faith Van Gilder, of rural Huntertown, celebrated their 40th anniversary with a trip to Morocco in May and a backpacking adventure in Isle Royale National Park. They met in 1979 at Bowling Green (Ohio) State University and were married Sept. 17, 1983. As newlyweds they lived in Washington, D.C., then were Peace Corps Volunteers in Botswana before moving to Fort Wayne. David is Senior Policy and Legal Director at Hoosier Environmental Council and a partner/owner at Fletcher Van Gilder LLC. He is on the boards of the Indiana Bar Foundation, Coalition for Court Access, PFW Environmental Resources Center, Downtown Rotary and Friends of Cedar Creek. He is also a drummer in the Fort Wayne Scottish Pipes and Drums. Faith is Chief Development Officer at Girl Scouts of Northern Indiana-Michiana and on the boards of the National Peace Corps Association; AVOW (Advancing Voices of Women), which she co-founded in 2017; and Friends of Cedar Creek. Both are Peace Corps Advocacy Coordinators for Indiana. They have two daughters Audrey, an attorney at Fletcher Van Gilder LLC, and Annika, an MBA candidate at the University of Michigan.
