Back in 1871, a group of men played the very first professional league baseball game in history right here in Fort Wayne. Problem was, the site of that game was forgotten through the years. Enter Bill Griggs, president of the local chapter of the Society for American Baseball Research. He not only found the site but has played a not-so-small role in getting it recognized with a monument.
